Caramel Apples

10.30.2011

I have been wanting to make caramel apples for about two years now. Not even a joke. Finally I found some people who would want to do them with me so I had so friends over and we decorated apples. We have 2 boxes of hand picked apples so naturally, we had to dip them. What a good way to celebrate Halloween. What are your plans for Halloween?!

easy. breezy. beautiful.

Nappy Bun

Winged Eye
A CUP OF JO
I love these two simple statements that can alternate the look of any thing you want to pull off. These are my two trademarks that I always revert to even when I try something new. I can never seem to let myself give up the look of the nappy bun, or winged eye. If ever I am in a hurry or if it is just a rough hair day, I will ALWAYS 1. flip my hair forward 2. bunch the hair of top of my head 3. secure it with an elastic 4. spray it down for any fly aways. It is a quick and easy way to dress up or down the look you are going for.

When it comes to my rushed morning make up routine, (since I have the hardest time getting up in the morning) I put on a few swipes of mascara and I use my MAC liquid eyeliner to create the winged eye look. It is a quick and dramatic look and here is the easiest way to do it.

When I grow up...

*unknown source

I have been filling out a lot of college applications lately and I have had to write down what my interests are as well as filling in little bubbles that have potential degrees I would want. I felt like I was coloring in almost all of the little bubbles. I put together a list of potential carreers I would love. I know some are just not realistic, but it is fun to dream. I think I have a pretty good idea of what I seriously would want to consider.

What I have wanted/ want to be when I grow up:
  • photographer*
  • ballerina
  • fashion designer*
  • baker
  • figure skating teacher
  • own a boutique
  • interior designer*
  • wedding planner
  • blogger :)
  • personal shopper*
  • teacher
  • work for a magazine in NY
  • work in an office at the top of a sky scraper in NY
  • personal assistant/ secretary for a prestigious company in NY
  • (you get the idea, I want to live in NY, but only for a short time, then i am moving to my brick apartment in Boston.)
So many choices! But for the most part, I think I have it figured out.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

cake batter, bike rides and nappy buns

10.24.2011

This post is a little past due, but these photos are from a bike ride that my mom, me, and little sister went on. I would say that the leaves here in Park City are sure pretty... what do you say? (I understand the fact that some of the trees are half dead, but there is something about the rustic mountains that i love.)

I got to play mom this Fall Break while my parents went to our cabin. Lo, AJ, and I had a very good time. What is that saying?! While mom is away the kids will play? Oh we played. We had cake batter waffles and ice cream for sunday dinner as well as having slumber parties in my parents bed with movies and such. Yeah, I am the best babysitter EVER! (we also made the cutest owl shaped rice sacks to heat up when you have an upset stomach. they work like a charm. .  . I will post pictures :)

Highlight of my day: Little girl at skating: "Why do you always wear your hair in a bun on the top of your head?" She obvs doesn't know that the Nappy Bun is my go to.

Anyway, hope your weekend was a great one! xo

Peanut Butter Cup

10.21.2011

I tell you what, something in this Park City air makes me want to bake all the time. I was reading one of my favorite blogs, cupcakes and cashmere and she had this recipe. I made them and they turned out to be pretty good. They looked lovely also.

These whoopie pies are only a few out of the 88 cookies I
have made in the past two days. . . I am on a craze.

On Friday night I stayed home with my little sister Andee and watched her while our parents went out. We decided we wanted to make some cookies so we went and picked up a few ingredients and came back to bake. We played some Italian music in the background as we wore our baker aprons. We (I) pretty much felt like a famous baker.

I love the weekend

At the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Saturday morning, planting bulbs for spring.
Yesterday morning our stake was able to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and do service by planting bulbs for the spring. As a stake, we planted over 9,000 bulbs. It was such a neat experience. Don't mind the nappyness, it was early and cold.

I am so glad Lola has found such good friends up here.

I went with these lovely ladies to my first ever Park City High football game. It was snowing (It snowed for two days straight) and by the end of the game, I couldn't feel my fingers or toes. But it was an experience... right?
I love these two :)

General Conference

10.02.2011

Salt Lake City Temple
I am going there someday :)
Salt Lake City Conference Center

Today I was lucky enough to go to General Conference at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City with this guy :) We had pretty good seats and got to see the Prophet of our church up on the stand not too far away. I am so grateful for such a wonderful Prophet that leads and guides us. Thomas S. Monson is such a sweet man.
Jake and I had some pretty funny/good times listening to music, doing homeowork, and having wrestling matches (sounds sketchy but it wasn't.) I am so grateful for such an awesome and funny friend.
