Spring Cleaning

5.15.2016
It's Spring cleaning time! This is such a fun post for me to do because Spring cleaning is something that I have always enjoyed doing, and mu husband and I finally got around to it after I graduated college and MOVED TO KANSAS! So this is a big deal! Today I am going to give you guys some spring cleaning tips as well as some great cleaning products that I love using, and that are all natural and smell delicious!!

MAKE THE SPACE COMFORTABLE: The first place that I started to organize and put together as soon as we arrived at our new place in Kansas was my desk. I am still doing a lot of design during the day so since I sit here, I want it to be comfortable and stocked with all of the things that I will need! I have all my pens and pencils, as well as a yummy candle that I got from target HERE. I also have my succulent that I just picked up at Trader Joe's. I added my planner into the shot because organizing my day is just as important as organizing my house! I always add in the little things into that planner like "Organize bedroom" and things like that so that I don't get too overwhelmed with things that I need to do. Since I tend to be that type of person.
INDOOR PLANTS & FLOWERS: Succulents and indoor plants are a great way to add to the spring cleaning and freshness of a place!! I love to have fresh flowers or plants whenever I can find ones that I like. Succulents are a super low maintenance plant which I love because as much as I wish i had a green thumb, I really don't.

SIMPLIFY: I found this makeup organizer at TJ Maxx and I just loved how small and perfect it was! We don't have a lot of counter space and I would rather have easy access to my makeup so that I will actually wear it, rather than having it in a place that is hard to get to. I am all about simplifying and making my routine easier, and this was the perfect thing to help me do that!
ORGANIZATION: This is how I organized our bathroom cupboard. Taylor doesn't have a ton of products... Luckily for me haha. So I get a lot of the shelf space to myself. I wanted everything that I used to be near the front and the stuff that I don't use as much be near the back for easy access. I also keep my essential oils on handy just in case!! I still don't have a diffuser, which that is something that I really want! Diffusing oils can be a great alternative to those candles and a much healthier option. That will be my next investment! Diffused Lemon is amazing! My mom and sister both have diffusers and use them all the time. They make the whole house feel fresh and smell amazing!
WINDOWS & DOORS: Leaving the doors and windows open is a great way to air out the house and let some sunshine and fresh air in! I sometimes feel so cooped up in my house when I am on the computer working all day, so opening the door that is right next to my desk always helps me feel more relaxed.

REUSABLE BAGS: A super helpful trick that my mom taught me a few years back was to take your reusable grocery bags and fold them up and stick them under your sink in a basket or bag. This makes it so that they are all organized and that they take up much less space than they would if they were all just shoved somewhere. I always save mine so I can re-use them down the road. This is the best way that I have found to do that!
LEMON: One of the grossest things to me is a dirty microwave. Taylor taught me the coolest trick! He said that if you cut a lemon in half, stick both halves in a glass bowl with some water, and turn the microwave on for about 45 seconds to a minute (or longer depending on how dirty) it literally loosens up all the gross stuff that is in the microwave so when you wipe it out, it comes out so much easier. This is such a safe and all natural method of cleaning out the microwave and when I tried it, I was shocked at how good it works!!

ALL NATURAL CLEANER: As far as cleaning products that I use go, these three always seem to get the job done! These ones are all natural and don't have the toxins that a lot of other cleaners do. I especially like to use the all natural Method hand soap that is on the right. If I am using it on my skin I prefer it to be as chemical free as possible. The bottle in the middle is an all purpose cleaner that I spray on my bathroom and kitchen counters to clean them off, and the product on the left is my dish soap that I use. I definitely recommend these products for the yummy and fresh smells that they have! They also work better than any other cleaning chemicals that I have used!

When I came in contact with the MAA CENTER about Mesothelioma and Asbestos, I was super interested in helping to raise awareness! Asbestos can be found in homes that were built before the 1970's and it can lead to Mesothelioma. This material has not yet been banned and it is causing health problems to people around the world! It is important to know of the harmful things that can be found in old homes. I hope this post helps you get kick started in doing your spring cleaning and has helped you become more aware of the dangers of Asbestos!

Thanks for reading and happy spring cleaning!!

Sunday waffles

4.04.2016

When I could eat gluten (three years ago) my family would make waffles every single Sunday and it soon became my favorite mini tradition. I went without Sunday waffles for sometime until I found this recipe that my cousin posted a while back. Now Taylor and I try to continue this little tradition!

These waffles are gluten free and are paleo which is perfect for those of you on the paleo diet!! My dad is gluten free as well and is a total foodie. If something isn't delicious he wont eat it! Well he eats these and claims that they are better than normal waffles so there you go!! Deano said it!

Recipe from Here

Paleo Waffles
Ingredients:
Makes 4 – 8 waffles
1 cup almond flour
1/2 cup tapioca flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 large egg
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk (not canned) (I use almond milk)
1 tsp. lemon juice
Instructions
Grease & Preheat waffle iron
1. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
2. Pour mix in waffle maker and let waffles cook
3. Serve with maple syrup and whipped cream, fruit, berries, or whatever your heart desires!
ENJOY!

Taylor and I have been married for 3 months! It has been such an adventure and exciting time for us!! Taylor is the kindest person I know. He makes me calm, and makes me laugh. He helps me be less judge mental and is the best darn kisser in the world! I love you Taylor! I promise I wont do this every month... This one was just fun for us!!

Taylor brought me home flowers after work. He works all day Saturdays and so he came home with the best surprise!! We went on a date to Callaway's which is Italian. After our dinner we came back and did what we do best. Relax and watch Guardians of the Galaxy. Tay and I have a mutual love for Chris Pratt so it's ok.

I love flowers. T know's me too well!

Hope you had a nice weekend! We have been watching conference and eating yummy waffles today! Post on that coming soon.

Veggie Omelette from our favorite breakfast/lunch place in Logan Herm's Inn!

I made it black and white so the blood wouldn't gross you out!
Well this sure isn't my typical post. I am not posting about pretty flowers or anything like that! Last week was our spring break and we spent half of it in SLC/ PC staying with family and the other half in Logan working and chilling. We had my cousin and his Fiancè staying with from Friday to Monday.

This is where my weekend went wrong and let me tell you I laugh about it now but it was one of the scariest things I has ever had happen to me!!

On Sunday night we had just finished Sunday dinner (Roast and potatoes) and Taylor and I had Laura (my sister) and my cousins over at our house. Usually on Sunday nights I get really hyper. Well our night had turned out to be a dance party blasting music on our Bose speaker when obvi things got out of hand if you see the above photo^^^. I was dancing on the twin mattress that was pushed up against our sectional, and I lost balance and fell and hit my head on the arm of our couch. My initial thought was "OH MY GOSH THAT HURT SO BAD" then I was like ok I can't breathe because I think I got the wind knocked out of me. My cousin is certified in First aid and he was like umm she is bleeding we need to go to the hospital. Well I couldn't see the blood so I was kind of freaking out because they were like you are fine but inside I was so scared!! I then was sobbing. I was thinking of all of the things that could go wrong like I would have to shave my head and get stitches or have a memory problem. At this time I was getting the chills but felt so hot at the same time. I was so scared.

We got to the ER and they wheeled me into my room and the nurses came and hooked me up to the machines to check my vitals. Then they start looking at me head and they were like "Where is all of this blood coming from" they couldn't find where the cut was. The nurses looked really concerned when they first saw my head but after they saw it was minor, we were all cracking jokes. They found my giant goose egg and then saw that there was a cut a centimeter wide on that goose egg. I am the luckiest person in the world. I didn't even have to get one stitch. So beside the constant headache I have had today, I am feeling pretty darn good about life. But you can never be too careful! Especially with head injuries.

I know Heavenly Father was watching over me!! I am glad I went to all three hours of church yesterday. I am not even kidding you I think that is why I was so blessed!!

Look at my tay in that pic. He was the best. He just sat by me and rubbed my arm and gave me calf massages while they looked at my head. I am seriously the luckiest!! He also drove like a bat out of hell to get me to the hospital. Now I know what it will be like when I am in labor!! hahahaha.

Anyway. Hope you all had a nice break/weekend!! I know besides my Er incident I did!!

Thanks for reading :)

Tulip Trees

2.20.2016

And all I can say about these photos is man... Palo Alto made me very excited for spring!!! These were the ones in Taylor's Grandparents back yard. So were those cute lil Coy fish up there ^ I love these Tulip trees that were on every corner!! So gorgeous.

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Pescadero Beach

2.19.2016

Taylor and I spent Valentines day on Pescadero beach. It is beautiful there. I literally can't say enough good words about it. We spent the day on the beach followed by a delicious dinner at Spaltis.
Perfect Valentine's day! Wish I was still there!

San Francisco Weekend

The Painted Ladies!

Taylors Grandparents house! Only 4 houses away from Mark Zuckerberg's... Pretty cool!

I died at the San Francisco Flower Mart!!

My Valentine
Driving down Lombard Street with the sun roof open!!
Fresh Pressed Juice
The yummiest healthy frozen yogurt at Pressed Juicery, Stanford Mall, Palo Alto
I told Taylor that the only think I wanted for Valentines Day was to go to the San Francisco Flower Mart and pick out a valentines bouquet and carry them around the city. So that is just what we did!! I picked out the rose bouquet, and he picked out the Ranunculus. I enjoyed them for the rest of the weekend and was so sad to leave them along with my heart in Palo Alto!!

I literally died and went to heaven this weekend. (my mom always laughs when I use literally out of context hahaha) but seriously... It is my new favorite place. I knew I loved San Francisco... but now I know that I want to live in Palo Alto!! It is 45 min away from the coast, and 40 away from the city. With AMAZING food and adorable shops. It so totally doesn't get any better. Taylor grew up here, so we got to go and see where he went to school and which houses he lived in. Man oh man I am saving my pennies so I can afford to move here someday!!!

We just spent all day Saturday roaming San Francisco and eating lots of treats and carrying flowers. We saw the Painted ladies, drove down Lombard street, went to the Flower mart, and so much more!! Taylor is my most favorite travel buddy because he gets in that mood where he wants to just spend his money on all of the fun activities and treats and it just makes vacations so much more fun when you treat it differently than every day life!!! Now we are back to saving our money for our next vacation!! I have the travel bug. I just want to hop on a plane to our next adventure!! We have been on 7 plane rides (funny story) in three months and I think that is a new record for me!!

Somehow it is Friday tomorrow and I am sooooo happy. I am ready for the weekend!!!
